Born on December 8. 1978, Ian Joseph Somerhalder came from Covington, Louisiana, USA. His parents are Edna and Robert Somerhalder. As he grew up, Ian was into swimming, fishing, and training horses. He was also included in school dramas at a young age. By age of 10, he aimed for a modelling career. However, in junior high school, he focused on sports and school rather than modelling.
Then a few years later, an opportunity rose and made him go to different places like Paris, Milan, and London. He studied acting when he was 17 and focused on his career by 19. He was later casted for “Changing Hearts.” He was also included in “Young Americans.” His breakthrough role was for the TV show “Lost.” Then in 2009, his inclusion to the “Vampire Diaries” became his best so far.
