IDLES Bio
IDLES is an English punk band formed in Bristol, England in 2009. The current members of the band are Joe Talbot on lead vocals, Mark Bowen on backing vocals and lead guitar, Lee Kiernan on backing vocals and rhythm guitar, Adam Devonshire on backing vocals and bass guitar, and Jon Beavis on backing vocals and drums. In 2012 they released their debut EP titled Welcome and have since released the EPs Meat, Meta Ep, and Meat // Anguish EP. They released their debut studio album in 2017 titled Brutalism and followed it up with the release of their second studio album Joy as an Act of Resistance in 2018. In 2019 they released the compilation album Meat / Meta and were nominated for a Brit Award for Best Breakthrough Act. The band’s sound has been described as punk rock, post-punk, hardcore punk, and post-hardcore.
