Ilima-Lei Macfarlane is an American mixed martial artist who currently competes in the Bellator Fighting Championship's Flyweight class. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1990. Ilima signed a three-fight deal with Bellator MMA and competed in her first match at Bellator 141. MacFarlane won the match by a narrow margin against Maria Rios. Soon after, the athlete competed against Amber Tackett.
Ilima won the first round through armbar submission. The fighter defeated Rebecca Ruth in her subsequent match, winning once again. Macfarlane’s winning streak had reached new heights. The Hawaiian defeated Emily Ducote in their matchup by a margin of victory that was a unanimous decision. To kick off the Bellator Women's Flyweight World Championship, Emily Ducote and Ilima fought once again at Bellator 186. A successful armbar in the fifth round gave the rugged Hawaiian the victory and the MMA title. The second-most submission victories belong to Macfarlane. That is unique to Bellator MMA history.
