Imani Walker (born December 30, 1975 in the United States) is a well-known psychiatrist, television personality, author, and podcast host, best known for appearing on Bravo's Married to Medicine Los Angeles in 2019. She is also known for her trademark shaved head, and as the founder Dark Matter Psychiatry.
Imani earned her degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has worked as the medical director of Gateways Hospital & Mental Health Center in L.A. and completed her training at Temple University and Harbor-UCLA (2005, 2009). In 2010, she received a Forensic Psychiatry fellowship for completion of the Sepulveda VA-UCLA Forensic Psychiatry Program.
After completing a fellowship in forensic psychiatry, Imani opened a private practice in Southern California. Her focus is caring for acutely ill psychiatric patients, including those with extensive forensic backgrounds. She is married to '90s R&B singer Phil Johnson and has a son named Idris. She joined Noelle Reid in the cast of Married to Medicine Los Angeles. She is a host on the 'Imani State of Mind' podcast, and has made guest appearances on various media and news outlets.
