Indrans Bio
Surendran Kochuvelu, widely known as Indrans, is an actor, playback singer, and costume designer born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, on March 16, 1956. He has starred in more than 500 roles across movies and TV series. He has worked opposite Basil Joseph, Johny Antony, Dileesh Pothan, and Shammy Thilakan.
Indrans debuted as a costume designer and an actor in the 1981 film Choothattam, produced by TMN Charley. He worked as a costume designer on the set of Aayirathil Oruvan, Kalyana Unnikal, Utsava Melam, and Maala Yogam. He was a playback singer for the 1997 film Kadhanayakan.
His role as Joseph in Apothecary earned him the Special Jury Award at the 2015 Kerala State Film Awards. His accolades include Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor, Singapore South Asian International Film Award for Best Actor, and Shanghai International Film Festival Award for Best Film. Indrans appeared in Veyilmarangal, Velukkakka Oppu Ka, Archana 31 Not Out, and Palthu Janwar.
