Insomnium Bio
Insomnium is a metal band formed in 1997 from Joensuu, Finland. The group is made up of Ville Friman, Niilo Sevänen, Ville Vänni, and Markus Hirvonen. The group released demos in 1999 and 2000. Candlelight Records eventually signed them in England, and they released their debut album In the Halls of Awaiting in 2002. They released three more albums under the record company – Since the Day It All Came Down in 2004, Above the Weeping World in 2006, and Across the Dark in 2009. Insomnium decided to sign with Century Media under which they released three albums One for Sorrow, Shadow of the Dying Sun, and Winter’s Gate. Aside from their albums, the group also released the EP Ephemeral and While We Sleep.
