Ira Glass is an American radio and television personality born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 3, 1959. He is best known as the host and producer of the radio and television show This American Life. At the age of 19 he started his career in radio as an intern at National Public Radio’s headquarters in Washington DC. He Graduated from college and began working for NPR as a reporter and host for several of their programs like Talk of the Nation, All Things Considered, Chicago Public Radio, and Morning Edition. In 1995 he started hosting and producing the show The American Life that was syndicated nationally in 1996. The show began airing a television version in 2007 on the network Showtime. He has also made appearances on shows like The Late Show, The Colbert Report, TBTL, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, among others and has been a producer on films like Don’t Think Twice and Sleepwalk with Me. In 2014 Glass was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame.
