Ivan Rakitić Bio

Ivan Rakitić is a professional soccer player born in Rheinfelden, Switzerland, on March 10, 1988. He spent his youth career at Möhlin-Riburg (1992–1995) and FC Basel (1995–2005). He played twelve years at FC Basel, making his professional debut in 2005 and scoring eleven goals in 34 appearances. Ivan won the Swiss Cup with FC Basel.

Ivan made his national debut for Croatia against Estonia in September 2007. The midfielder currently wears the number 10 jersey for Sevilla. From 2014 to 2020, he played for Barcelona, appearing in 200 matches and scoring 25 goals. While at Barca, he won four La Liga, four Copa del Rey, two Supercopa de España, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup.

Ivan won runner-up with Croatia at the 2018 World Cup. He is the first official ambassador of The UEFA Foundation for Children. He received the Order of Duke Branimir in 2018. His accolades include Swiss Super League Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season, La Liga Player of the Month, UEFA Europa League Final Man of the Match, and Croatian Sportsman of the Year.
