J. B. Smoove Bio
J.B. Smoove is the stage name of the American actor, writer, comedian, and voice actor Jerry Angelo Brooks. He was born in Plymouth, North Carolina on September 16, 1965. He is best known for his roles on the television series Curb Your Enthusiasm, Everybody Hates Chris, Saturday Night Live, and The Millers. He made his debut on television in 1995 in the television show Def Comedy Jam and was also a writer for the show. Brooks has since had roles on the shows Law & Order, Ed, Everybody Hates Chris, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Carpoolers, Castle, ’Til Death, Bent, Louie, Chicago Fire, The Miller, Chicago P.D., Real Husbands of Hollywood, The Soul Man and more. In 1997 he made his debut in film in the movie Lesser Prophets and continued landing roles in the films Tomorrow Night, With or Without You, Gas, Hall Pass, Think Like a Man, The Dictator, Movie 43, Top Five, Almost Christmas, The Polka Dot King, Uncle Drew Going Places among others. He has also voiced characters in the video games Grand Theft Auto V and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Portal Power.
