J. Stone (James Jenkins) was born in Baltimore, Maryland. After moving to California, Stone took his musical inspiration from popular artists of the time such as Daz Dillinger and Snoop Dogg. While working on Soul Train music television he began to meet other hip-hop stars like Jermaine Dupri and Public Enemy, only furthering his love for rap. Stone worked with many different artists and labels during the 1990s and early 2000s before relocating to Arizona to work with Jahpo (of H.M.F ENTERTAINMENT) and is currently seeking to release a solo album.
