Jack Black Bio
Jack Black is an American actor, musician, singer, songwriter and comedian. He was born Thomas Jacob Black on the 28th of August, 1969, in Santa Monica, California, U.S. Black’s acting interest began when he joined The Actors’ Gang, a theatre troupe of the UCLA, where Black studied. He started his career landing small roles on television in series such as “Life Goes On”, “The X-Files”, and “The Golden Palace”. In 2000, he got his first big role, in the movie “High Fidelity”, alongside John Cusack. His comic skills were soon noticed and he gained leading roles in movies like “Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny”, “Nacho Libre”, and “Gulliver’s Travels”. In 2003, he starred in Richard Linklater’s acclaimed movie “School of Rock”, earning critical praises and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor-Musical or Comedy. In 2011, he played the lead role in the film “Bernie”, for which he got his second Golden Globe Award Nomination. Black has also a prolific music career, having released four albums along with his band Tenacious D.
