Jack William Nicklaus, also known as The Golden Bear, is an American retired professional golfer and golf course designer best known for his illustrious career on the PGA Tour. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, United States, on January 21, 1940.
Jack began playing golf at the age of ten, and after graduating from Ohio State University in 1961, he turned professional in 1962 when he joined the PGA Tour. He went on to become known as one of the best golf players of all time, and throughout his career, Jack played alongside Tom Kite, Greg Norman, Ben Crenshaw, and Johnny Miller.
His career highlights include induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame, 8-time PGA Tour leading money winner, 6-time PGA Player of the Year, and the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award.
