British DJ, Matthew Carter, is best known by his stage name Jaguar Skills. He started his career in 2002 as a DJ at the art bar, Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes. This led to a collaboration with the fashion label Maharishi to produce a mixed tape CD. This was followed by several gigs in London until he was invited by Jade Jagger to play at the Jezebel parties in Russia, Ibiza and Hong Kong. He collaborated with Lupe Fiasco for the track, ‘We Love You,’ after which he released the mixtape, ‘1979-2006: A Hip Hop Odesssy.’ In this tape, he mixed every hit Hip Hop song between 1979 and 2006. He has put together a 10-minute mash for ‘The Trevor Noah Show.’ He also has a slot on the BBC Radio 1 show, ‘In New DJs we Trust.’ In 2011, he released his first mainstream compilation on Tool Room Records. This includes two compilations for the Ministry of Sound. Throughout his career, Jaguar Skills sported a customized bandana that hides his identity and adds a layer of mystery to his personality.
