Professional ice hockey left winger, Jake Guentzel was born in Omaha, Nebraska on 6th October 1994. He played varsity hockey for two years at Hill Murray School and committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha in his senior season. In his freshman year, he was named to the NCHC Academic All-Conference Team and the NCHC All-Conference Rookie Team. In the 2015-16 season, he signed an entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins for three years. He made his NHL debut against the New York Rangers where he scored two goals. In June 2017, the Penguins won the Stanley Cup after defeating the Nashville Predators. Following a two-goal game against the Los Angeles Kings in the 2018-19 season, he was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week. In the 2019-20 season, he was voted to play in the NHL All-Star Game.
