Florida native Jake Owen is a country singer-songwriter born on 28 August 1981. He enrolled at Florida State University and was often playing cover songs in campus bars. The ambitious artist dropped out of University, and his musical career led him to Nashville. He met producer Jimmy Ritchey and struck a chord with him. This friendship resulted in Sony/BMG Nashville offering him a record label contract for his debut album “Startin’ with Me” released in 2006. The successful record reached no 8 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, ushering in future commercial success and back-to-back hits. 7 of his Albums reached Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, with 2 of them peaking at no 1. The singer earned the industry’s respect and got nominated for a Grammy award in 2008.
