Jakob Poeltl Bio
Jakob Poeltl (Pöltl) is an Austrian professional basketball player who plays as a center in the NBA. He was born in Vienna, Austria, on October 15, 1995.
Jakob began his professional career in 2013 when he signed with the Traiskirchen Lions. He played with the University of Utah from 2014 to 2016 when he was selected by the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the NBA Draft. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs in 2018, and throughout his time with the Spurs, Jakob played alongside Jeremy Sochan, Keldon Johnson, Tre Jones, and Josh Richardson.
His career highlights include the Consensus second-team All-American, Pete Newell Big Man Award, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, and Pac-12 Player of the Year.
