Jamal Edwards is a British entrepreneur, author, and founder of the online music platform SBTV. He was born in Luton, England on August 24, 1990. Edwards had an interest in music from a young age, after seeing his mother came in second on the second season of The X Factor. He earned a degree in media moving image from Ealing College. While in school, he would film videos with his friend of them rapping and post the videos to YouTube. These videos would eventually become the beginning of SBTV. While starting SBTV in 2006, Edwards worked in retail to support himself financially. SBTV is an online media platform aimed at discovering emerging artists. The platform has started the careers of several artists including Ed Sheeran and Rita Ora. In 2013 Edwards released his debt book titled Self Belief: The Vision: How to Be a Success on Your Own Terms. Edwards also designed a headwear collection on Hopman with American Freshman that includes limited edition bucket hats and snapbacks.
