James Elliot Bourne, who was born in Rochford, Essex, on September 13, 1983, originally achieved prominence with the English Pop Rock band Busted, along with future Fightstar frontman Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis. The band was fortunate to have four songs that reached the top of the charts, two hit albums, and several tours that sold out between 2001 and 2005. The band opted to disband after Simpson departed the group, however, and the popularity was short-lived. While Willis started a solo career, Bourne started a new band called Son of Dork to replicate his success with Busted. However, with the release of the band's debut album, "Welcome to Loserville," the group started to fade from the public eye. Son of Dork broke up in the middle of making a second album. Before ultimately starting a solo project, Bourne Spent the most of 2008 to 2010 penning songs for up-and-coming American musicians.
