James Smith Dashner is an American novelist, screenwriter, and producer best known for his fantasy-science fiction novels. He was born in Austell, Georgia, United States, on November 26, 1972.
James is best known for writing The Maze Runner book series which featured the books The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, and The Death Cure, and was adapted into a three-part film series. The Maze Runner film series featured Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Ki Hong Lee.
James' body of work includes the book series The Jimmy Fincher Saga, The 13th Reality, The Infinity Ring, and The Mortality Doctrine. James received a Kids' Choice nomination for Favorite Book.
