Born in Settle, England, on October 19, 1985, James Richard Newman has made a name for himself in the music industry. As a young boy, he became interested in singing, and he wrote and produced several songs with his younger brother while growing up.
By the time he was 20, he had already established his music career as one of the best singers and songwriters in London. He contributed to the lines in Rudimental and Waiting All Night by Ella Eyre.
In 2014, he won the British Single of the Year at the 2014 Brits Awards, for his contributions to the hit song Waiting All Night.
Apart from Waiting All Night, he has co-written several other hit songs, including the 2018 popular hit song, Therapy by DJ Armin. The song top-charted for several weeks in the Netherlands, Belgium and the US.
Newman was set to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, but due to the COViD-19 pandemic, the event was cancelled.
