Jamey was born James Vincent Shanahan on August 7, 1977, in West Haven, Connecticut. He is a singer and songwriter from New Haven and is best known as the singer for the hardcore band Hatebreed. His first band was called Dreadnaught and was later changed to Jasta 14. He made his solo debut on July 26 2011 with Jasta, a metalcore album that featured guest appearances from Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Down singer) and guitarist Zakk Wylde. The vocalist featured a number of sideband projects including Icepick and the sludge metal act Kingdom of Sorrow. Jamey also owns Stillborn Records, a hardcore and metal-based record label from West Haven Connecticut, and a rock-themed apparel line called Hatewear.
