Dame Valerie Jane Morris-Goodall, better known as Jane Goodall, is an English anthropologist, primatologist, author, and activist best known for her work with wild primates. She was born in London, England, on April 3, 1934. Since she moved to the Gombe Stream Game Reserve in Tanzania to study chimpanzees, Jane has become one of the world’s leading experts and researchers on primate communities. She went on to co-found the Jane Goodall Institute for Wildlife Research, Education and Conservation. Jane has appeared in the TV series CNBC's Sustainable Future, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, We Are Nature, Jane Goodall: The Hope, and 60 Minutes. She has authored many books including My Life With The Chimpanzees, Jane Goodall: 50 Years at Gombe, Chimpanzee Children of Gombe, and The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for an Endangered Planet.
