Jane Weaver Bio

Jane Weaver, born as Jane Louise Weaver in 1972 in Liverpool, England is a singer and songwriter that started her music career in a British Pop group called Kill Laura in 1993.  During her stint with the group they signed with two record labels, Polydor and Manchester Records, and released five singles before disbanding in 1997.

In 2001 Jane released her debut solo EP entitled Like an Aspen Leaf. The next year she formed the group Misty Dixon and founded her own label Bird Records. The group specialized in the genre folk electronica and consisted of Jane Weaver, Anna Greenwood, Dave Tyack, and Sam Yates.  In 2003 they released their debut album Iced To Mode. The group split in 2004 after the disappearance and death of Dave Tyack.

Before the disbanding of Misty Dixon, Jane continued with her solo career. Her second album was released in 2006 called Seven Day Smile and a follow up in 2007 called Cherlokalate. The two albums focused on the psychedelic folk genre and were compared to bands like Oasis and the Beatles. Jane released her fourth album The Fallen By Watchbird in 2010 to critical acclaim. In 2014 she released another album called The Silver Globe.
