Janina Zione Gavankar is an American actress, singer, and musician best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Joliet, Illinois, United States, on November 29, 1980. Janina began her acting career in 2000 when she appeared in the short film Forward Anticipation in Chicago. She has since had recurring roles in the TV series Big Sky, The Morning Show, The Mighty Ones, Sleepy Hollow, The Mysteries of Laura, The League, True Blood, The Gates, and The L Word. Janina is best known for starring in the action-comedy film Borderlands alongside Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black, and Haley Bennett, but her filmography also includes Blindspotting, The Way Back, Encounter, Sidney Hall, Janoskians: Untold and Untrue, and Satellite of Love.
