Jarren Benton Bio
Rapper Jarren Benton was born Jarren Giovanni Benton on October 26, 1981 in Decatur, Georgia. He always wanted to be a rapper and started rapping at a young age around Atlanta.
His first mixtape was released in August 2009 entitled “Jarren Benton: The Mixtape.” After his single, “Skitzo,” was released and received 1.3 million views on Youtube in 2012, he signed with Funk Volume. His first release with Funk Volume was the mixtape, “Freebasing with Kevin Bacon,” in June 2012. His debut album, “My Grandma’s Basement,” was released in June 2013. It reached number four on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. In August 2013, he embarked on his first headlining tour in the United States. He was named to “XXL Magazine’s” 2014 Freshman Class and the “People’s Champ.” Benton released his first EP, “Slow Motion, Vol. 1” in January 2015.
