Jason Denayer is a Belgian professional footballer born in Jette, Belgium on June 28, 1995. He is currently a centre-back for Olympique Lyonnais and the Belgium national team. Denayer started playing football at six years old and played with FC Ganshoren from 2003 to 2006 and Anderlecht from 2006 to 2008. At 13 years old he started playing for JMG Academy in Lier and was with the team from 2006 to 2013. In 2013 he moved to England and went for a trial at Manchester City. In 2014 he made his senior debut with Manchester City. That same year he was signed to a season long loan to Celtic. In 2015 he was signed to a season long loan to Galatasaray and in 2016 he was signed to another season long loan to Sunderland. In 2017 he was re-signed for a season long loan to Galatasaray. Denayer joined the French team Olympique Lyonnais in 2018 on a four-year contract for €6.5m. From 2013 to 2014 Denayer played with the under 19 Belgium national team and from 2014 to 2016 he played with the under 21 Belgium national team. In 2015 he started playing with the senior Belgium national team and continues to play with them.
