Jason Witten Bio
Jason Witten is an American professional football player born in Elizabethton, Tennessee on May 6, 1982. He is a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. Witten played football in high school at Elizabethton High School in Elizabethton, Tennessee. He went on to play college football at the University of Tennessee for the Tennessee Volunteers football team. In 2003 he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round, 69th overall, in the 2003 NFL Draft. In 2006 he signed a six-year contract extension worth $29 million with $12 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $6 million. He signed another contract extension in 2017 for four years. In 2018 Witten announced his retirement from professional football. In 2019 he returned to the Cowboys on a one-year contract for $4.5 million. Throughout his career he has recorded 1,152 receptions, 12,448 receiving yards, and 68 receiving touchdowns.
