Jay Pharoah is a comedian born on 14th October 1987 in Chesapeake, Virginia, United States. He is widely recognized for his stage name Jay Pharaoh. Growing up, Jay had a passion for acting and even started impersonations when he was only six years old. He started his career by performing standup comedy at comedy clubs and in community theaters in Virginia. At one point, he toured with popular comedians Charlie Murphy and Corey Holcomb. He also gained fame for his many celebrity impressions, including Jay-Z, Barack Obama, Chris Rock, Eddi Murphy, Denzel Washington, and others.
In 2010, he landed a job with American late-night live television sketch comedy “Saturday Night Live” as a performer for the 36th season of the show. He made his debut on the show in September 2010. In June 2012, he starred in the romantic comedy film “Lola Versus.” In 2014, he played a minor role in the action-comedy film “Ride Along”.
