Jayda G Bio
Jayda Guy (also known as Jayda G) was born in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada. She is a DJ who was inspired when she listened to jazz, blues, and R&B growing up.
Jayda learned how to play the classical piano and violin as a young girl and began collecting records and learning to mix them during the early 2010s. She moved to Los Angeles and began producing her own tracks by 2014. After hosting several events with DJ Fett Burger, they formed the Freakout Cult label and released NYC Party Track in 2015. They also released Velvet Vortex with Sleep D under Butter Sessions, the Australian label.
Jayda completed her Masters in Resource and Environmental Management where she investigated the effects of human activity on the Salish Sea killer whales of Vancouver. She finished recording her debut album in the same year. Her EP Both Of US / Are You Down that was released in July 2020 was nominated for the 2021 GRAMMY Award for Best Dance Recording.
