Jayme Lawson is an American actress born in 1997 in Washington. She trained at the Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts, and attended Juilliard School, graduating in 2019. After dedicating herself to theater, she had her film debut in “Farewell Amor,” alongside Zainab Jah and Ntare Mwine. In 2021, Lawson portrayed Michelle Obama as part of the cast of the historical series “The First Lady”, produced by Lionsgate and Showtime. As a stage professional, she has taken part in the musical “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide” by Ntozake Shange, and adaptations of Shakespeare’s classics “Macbeth” and “Romeo and Juliet,” among others. In 2021 she was revealed to be part of the cast of DC Film’s 2022 movie “The Batman” as Candidate Bella Real.
