Jasmine Taylor (who’s popularly known by the moniker Jaz Elise) is a Jamaican singer and songwriter who was born and raised in Harbor View, a community in Saint Andrew Parish, Kingston, Jamaica. Jaz started singing as a small girl of 5. Some of her earliest music influences were Jamaican legends like Sizzla, Stephen Marley and Nina Simone.
Jaz studied Psychology at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. She later announced to her parents that she’d be pursuing her passion for music professionally. She met producer JLL in 2018 who produced her 2018 single 'For You'. She has also performed alongside Sevana and Lila Ike at the Jamaican Rum Festival. After that event, she signed as RCA’s newest signee in partnership with In.Digg.Nation. In 2021, she dropped her debut EP The Golden Hour which included some popular tracks like After 3 and Good Over Evil.
