Jazz Cartier (born February 25, 1993) is a Canadian rap artist and record producer from Toronto. He released his first album Marauding in Paradise in 2015, from which the single Dead or Alive caught the media attention and now has over 16 million streams on Spotify. The song went viral on the media platform Vine, and was shortlisted for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize in 2016.
Both his first and second album Hotel Paranoia (2016), were long listed for the Polaris Music Prize, and in 2017 he won Rap Recording of the Year at the Juno Awards for the latter. Red Alert from Hotel Paranoia was used in a campaign for Ubisoft’s video game The Crew, and 100 Roses from the same album narrowly missed a feature in the movie Suicide Squad and instead made an appearance on TV show Ballers.
