James Burton Mauney, widely recognized as JB Mauney, is a highly accomplished American professional rodeo cowboy and bull rider. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, on January 9, 1987.
With an illustrious career spanning several decades, Mauney has left an indelible mark in the world of bull riding. Most notably, he achieved immense success in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR), capturing the PBR world championship titles in both 2013 and 2015, solidifying his reputation as a formidable force in the sport. In recent years, Mauney transitioned to compete full-time in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) starting in 2021, showcasing his versatility and commitment to excelling in various rodeo circuits. Additionally, he briefly competed in the now-defunct Championship Bull Riding (CBR) circuit.
Throughout his remarkable career, Mauney has achieved numerous notable feats, including being one of only two bull riders to conquer the formidable Bushwacker, riding the legendary bull for the full 8 seconds on the Built Ford Tough Series.
