Jeff Perry is an American actor born on August 16, 1955, in Highland Park, Illinois, USA. He is best known for his roles in TV shows including My So-Called Life in 1994, Scandal in 2012, and many more. He is also known for appearing alongside Kevin Bacon and Matt Dillon in the crime drama Wild Things in 1998.
Some of his acting beginnings include performing plays informally in a church basement in Highland Parks together with Terry Kinney and Gary Sinise in 1974. They later founded the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. In 1983, he was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Supporting Role in the play Cloud Nine, and in 1993 he was again nominated for the same award for the play Awake and Sing! He made his movie debut in the 1978 drama Remember my Name, and later appeared in the movie The Wedding, both produced by Robert Altman. He has appeared in over 40 TV shows including Family Ties, Thirtysomethings, Frasier, NYPD Blue, L.A. Law, ER, Lost, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Prison Break, and many more. He was also a regular on CBS’s Nash Bridges. He also played the role of Meredith Grey’s father in Grey’s Anatomy.
