Jeff Tweedy is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer born in Belleville, Illinois on August 25, 1967. He is best known as the singer and guitarist of the alternative rock band Wilco. He started his music career while in high school playing in his band The Plebes. The band changed it style and became Uncle Tupelo. They released their debut album in 1990 titled No Depression and released three more albums before disbanding in 1994. Later that year Tweedy formed the band Wilco with Max Johnston, Ken Coomer, and John Stirratt. In 1995 they released their debut studio album titled A.M. and went on to release 9 more albums. In 2005 the band’s fifth studio album A Ghost Is Born won two Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Recording Package. Tweedy started a new band in 2014 named Tweedy with his son Spencer. They released their debut album that same year titled Sukierae. In 2017 Tweedy released his first solo studio album titled Together at Last and has since released the solo albums Warm and Warmer. He released a memoir in November 2018 titled Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back).
