Latvian tennis player Jeļena Ostapenko also known as Alona Ostapenko. She was born on 8th June 1997 in Riga, Latvia. She was introduced to tennis when she was five and was a Serena Williams but began to pursue it seriously at 12. In 2014, she won the singles title at the Wimbledon Championships and was ranked the World No.2 junior player. In 2015, she won her biggest title with the Ladies Neva Cup. She reached her first WTA tour final later that year at the Coupe Banque Nationale. In 2016 she made her debut at the Rio Summer Olympics. In 2017, she became the first Latvian and unseeded player since 1993 to win the French Open. Besides being a successful singles player, she has also played for the Lativa Fed Cup Team. She has won seven singles and eight doubles titles at the ITF Women’s Circuit. In 2018 she achieved career-high rankings of WTA World No.5.
