John Benitez, popularly known as Jellybean, is an American musician, composer, DJ, remixer, and music producer who was born on November 7, 1957. Benitez, the son of Puerto Rican immigrants, was born in the South Bronx district of New York City. Benitez grew up listening to music and watching DJs at neighborhood bars.
Madonna, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and the Pointer Sisters are among the musicians he has produced and remixed. Later in his career, he became the executive producer of Studio 54 Radio. He was named the 99th most successful dance musician of all time by Billboard magazine in December 2016.
