Jennifer Beals is an award-winning American actress, producer, and former model best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States, on December 19, 1963. Jennifer began her acting career in the early 1980s when she appeared in the films My Bodyguard and Flashdance. She has since had a successful career in Hollywood, starring in both feature films and TV series. Jennifer has been a regular on the TV series The L Word: Generation Q, Taken, Proof, The Chicago Code, The L Word, and 2000 Malibu Road. Her filmography includes the blockbusters Runaway Jury, The Grudge 2, Catch That Kid, Devil in a Blue Dress, and Before I Fall, but she is best known for starring in the action film The Book of Eli alongside Denzel Washington, Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson, and Gary Oldman. Jennifer has won numerous awards including a Jupiter Award for Best International Actress, an NAACP Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Motion Picture, a Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or a Motion Picture Made for Television, and a Bravo Otto Award for Best Actress.
