Jennifer Yvette Holliday is an American Grammy Award-winning singer and broadway actress who was born on October 19th, 1960 in Houston, Texas, United States. She was born and raised in Texas earning her Doctor of Music Degree from the Berklee School of Music in Boston.
Jennifer rose to fame after she led the Broadway musical Your Arm’s Too Short to Box with God which led to her performance in Dreamgirls. Her single in the show 'And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going' became a hit single in 1982 further solidifying her fame. She also won Broadway’s 1982 Tony Award for Best Actress (Musical) for Dreamgirls. Jennifer also sang a duet with Jennifer Hudson at the BET Awards in 2007. As an actress, she enjoyed a recurring role on the hit show Ally McBeal. Jennifer is known and recognized for her work on Ally McBeal (1997), I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988) and Below the Belt (1980).
