Jeremy Gilley is a popular filmmaker and actor from England. Born in 1969, Gilley spent his childhood in Southampton, England. After 10 years of professional acting, he started his movie production company, P.U.R.E Productions, in 1994. He hosted two concerts in September 2002 and 2003 at Brixton Academy, London. In 2004, his documentary, Peace One Day, which he had started making in 1998, premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival. BBC aired the documentary in the same year.
Gilley produced the film “The Day after Peace,” in collaboration with the BBC. The film documents a polio vaccination exercise in Afghanistan where 4.5 million children were vaccinated. He was honored with the Campaigner of the Year award in May 2008. Gilley and Peace One Day were also awarded the Wateler Peace Prize on 21st September 2010.
