Jerome Bettis Bio

Jerome Bettis is an American retired football player who played as a running back in the NFL. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, United States, on February 16, 1972.

Jerome spent his formative years playing for Mackenzie High School and the University of Notre Dame, and he turned professional in 1993 when he was selected by the St. Louis Rams (now Los Angele Rams) in the NFL Draft. He went on to represent the Rams for three seasons with the St. Louis Rams. He joined the Pittsburgh Steelers between 1996 and 2005, and during his last season with the Steelers, he won Super Bowl XL in a Steelers team that also featured Ben Roethlisberger, Willie Parker, Hines Ward, and Antwaan Randle El.

Jerome’s other career highlights include 1993 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, 1996 NFL Comeback Player of the Year, 2001 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, and Pittsburgh Pro Football Hall of Fame.
