Jerrika Delayne Hinton is an actress, producer, and director born on September 28, 1981, in Dallas, Texas, USA. She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in liberal arts with honors at Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts. She is a recipient of the Rosenfield Award for Playwriting.
Her career began in 2005, appearing in several stage productions. Jerrika transitioned to film and television, appearing in popular shows such as Gilmore Girls, Everybody Hates Chris, Gossip Girl, and Scandal. She gained prominence in 2012 after starring as Stephanie Edwards in the renowned medical drama series, Grey's Anatomy.
Jerrika produced and directed the short film The Strangely Normal in 2012. She was an executive producer for the film Solace in 2018. Jerrika has starred alongside James Pickens Jr., Ellen Pompeo, Christian Madsen, and Tim Robbins. She has appeared on Made in Hollywood, Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso, and The Arsenio Hall Show.
