Jessica Jung is an American singer, actress, and fashion designer born in San Francisco, California on April 18, 1989. She is best known for being a member of the South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation. She is also known for playing Elle Woods in the Korean version of the musical Legally Blind in 2010 and for her role in the television show Wild Romance. Jung was discovered by a member of SM Entertainment in a shopping mall while on vacation in South Korea. In 2000 she joined SM Entertainment and spent seven years training before making her debut as a part of the Korean girl group Girls’ Generation in 2007. While she was with Girls’ Generation they released seven studio albums, two live albums, two compilation albums, and four EPs. In 2014 Jung left Girls’ Generation due to scheduling issues. As a solo artist Jung released three EPs, including With Love, J, Wonderland, and My Decade. As an actress, she has had roles and made appearances in the television shows and films I AM., I Love That Crazy Little Thing, Two Bellmen Three, My Other Home, Unstoppable Marriage, Tae-hee, Hye-kyo, Ji-hyun!, Oh! My Lady, Wild Romance, Jessica & Krystal, Beauty Bible, and Mix Nine. Throughout her career she has been nominated for a number of awards and has won a Barbie & Ken Award, a Sohu Fashion Award, a Yahoo Asia Buzz Award and more.
