Jessica Sanchez is an American singer and songwriter born in Chula Vista, California on August 4, 1995. She is best known for coming in second on the eleventh season of the reality singing competition show American Idol. She also competed in the first season of America’s Got Talent at 11 years old. Sanchez started singing at 2 years old and by the age of 10 she was performing on Showtime at the Apollo. In 2009 she recorded a cover of “Don’t Stop the Music” by Rihanna for iTunes with the independent record label Spin Move Records. In 2011, she auditioned for the eleventh season of American Idol at 15 years old. Sanchez came in second on American Idol behind Phillip Phillips. In 2012 she signed a record deal with Interscope Records and released her debut EP titled Jessica Sanchez: Journey to the Finale. She has since released the EPs American Idol Season 11 Highlights and Christmas with Jessica. In 2013 she released her debut studio album titled Me, You & the Music. Sanchez has made appearances on a number of shows, including Good Day New York, Jessica Soho Show, The Final 1, The Today Show, and more. In 2013 she made her acting debut on the show Glee.
