Jimmy Herring Bio

Jimmy Herring is a musician and guitarist who was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on January 22, 1962. Both the Guitar Institute of Technology and the Berklee College of Music were among his educational institutions of choice. In addition to having performed with The Allman Brothers Band, Project Z, Derek Trucks Band, Phil Lesh and Friends, and The Dead, Jimmy was a founding member of both Aquarium Rescue Unit and Jazz Is Dead. On one of his CDs, Herring created a jazz fusion version of the well-known "Jungle Book Overture" from the Walt Disney film. Jimmy Herring founded The Invisible Whip in 2017, and other members of the band include Jeff Sipe on drums, Jason Crosby on violin and Rhodes, Kevin Scott on bass, and Matt Slocum on organ. They played a total of fifty gigs, one of which was shared billing with John McLaughlin on the latter's last North American tour.
