Jimmy O. Yang Bio
Jimmy O. Yang is a Chinese American actor, comedian, and writer born in Hong Kong on June 11, 1987. He is best known for his role in the HBO comedy television show Silicon Valley. After graduating college he worked for the financial services company Smith Barney before switching his career to acting. In 2012 he landed his debut role in a television show in 2 Broke Girls. He continued landing roles in shows like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, New Girl, Criminal Minds, Silicon Valley, Battle Creek, Drunk History, Fresh Off the Boat, and more. In 2013 he had an uncredited role in the film The Internship and in 2016 had his first credited role in a film in the movie Patriots Day. He has since been in films like El Camino Christmas, Life of the Party, Crazy Rich Asians, The Happytime Murders, The Opening Act, Limited Partners, Fantasy Island, and has voiced characters in the animated films Wish Dragon and The Lego Movie 2. In 2018 he authored the book How to American: An Immigrant’s Guide to Disappointing Your Parents and went on a comedy tour titled the same name.
