Jo Koy, born Joseph Glenn Herbert Sr., is an American stand-up comic who was born on June 2, 1971, in Tacoma, Washington. After being encouraged by his mother during his childhood, Koy started his stand-up career in 1994 at a Las Vegas coffee house. Afterward, he got a regular spot on “Catch a Rising Star” at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, and soon enough, he rented the Huntridge Theatre to perform his own comedy shows. He has appeared on widely known TV shows, such as “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”, “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live”. In 2018, he received an award at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal as “Stand-Up Comedian of The Year”. Jo Koy also released comedy specials on Netflix and Comedy Central, which were streamed worldwide.
