Johanne Whiley, known as Jo Whiley, was born on July 4, 1965, in Northampton. She is famous as an English radio DJ and television presenter. She hosted Jo Whiley Show on BBC Radio 1 in 1995. In the final year of her degree, Whiley began to work at the BBC Radio Sussex on a show called Turn It Up, where she was interviewing the musicians. After a year, she started to work on WPFM, a BBC Radio 4 youth culture and music show as a researcher. She obtained her first presenting role when the presenter Terry Christian and Gary Crowley left. She continued her career as a producer and presenter on television at British Satellite for a show called Indie Show. From September 1993 until March 2011, Whiley moved on to BBC Radio 1 and hosted a weekday evening show called The Evening Session with Steve Lamacq. In July 2009, Whiley published an autobiography, titled, My World in Motion, on CD from Random House Audiobooks.
