Joanna Lumley is an English actress, comedian, presenter, television producer and activist. She was born on the 1st of May, 1946, in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, before moving to Kent, England in her childhood. She started her career as a model, posing for notable photographers like Brian Duffy and Jean Muir. She appeared in an episode of the “Bruce Forsyth Show” in 1966 and in 1969 she made her movie debut in the film “Some Girls Do”. She later portrayed a Bond girl in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. She also acted in the movie “Coronation Street” and “The Satanic Rites of Dracula”. In 1996 she voiced a character in the Tim Burton movie “James and The Giant Peaches” and in 2005 she worked again with the director voicing in the movie “Corpse Bride”. She played in the movie “Maybe Baby” and in “Ella Enchanted”. Overall, she has played in more than 20 movies and 20 television series.
