Joanne Shaw Taylor is a British blues singer and guitarist born in 1986 in Wednesbury, West Midlands, England. Mentored by Dave Stewart from Eurythmics, she started touring Europe in Stewart’s supergroup D.U.P. by the early 2000s. In 2009 Taylor released her debut album “White Sugar”, produced by Jim Gaines, and made a supporting tour in the U.S. The album featured the talents of drummer Steve Potts on drums and bassist Dave Smith. A year later the young artist issued “Diamonds in the Dirt”, followed by a Buckingham Palace performance with Annie Lennox. Studio albums “Almost Always Never” and “The Dirty Truth” followed, and by her fifth album “Wild”, Taylor topped the U.K. Albums chart. After signing with Sony Music, Taylor released “Reckless Heart” in 2019, produced by Al Sutton, and reached the 20th spot on the UK Albums charts.
